Real Estate Investment Trusts (FIBRAs) have become one of the most convenient alternatives for investors in Mexico because they are more profitable and have good yields; they also offer a stable alternative in the face of volatile external situations because they have medium and long-term leases that allow them to pay dividends frequently to their investors.
It is a priority to know how they work and how to invest in these instruments.
When an investor decides to invest in FIBRAs, it is best to:
LOOK FOR THE TYPE OF PROPERTIES THAT YOU KNOW AND/OR LIKE.
There may be one or more types of FIBRAs for which you have up-to-date information and are aware of real estate news.
APPROACH A BROKER OR BROKERAGE HOUSE.
It is recommended to select one that suits your needs and/or investment profile. Depending on the choice, you may obtain benefits such as a specialized service, competitive commissions, financial reports and/or ease of managing your own account.
MAKING AN APPLICATION
Either in person, by telephone or online, you can fill out a document that will formalize the request to open a new investment contract.
SIGN A CONTRACT
Review the amounts you want to have invested in real estate and in which FIBRAs to invest. This should be done through a stock broker because all FIBRAs are public instruments listed on the stock exchange. Their shares are known as CBFIs.
TO ACQUIRE INVESTMENT SECURITIES
To invest in FIBRAs it is not necessary to buy in large quantities, you can acquire as little as one security.
FOLLOW UP ON THE INVESTMENT
One of the advantages of investing in the stock market is that you can buy and sell whenever you see fit. All trusts are required to publish their results on a quarterly basis.
IT IS SAFE
When you invest your money in FIBRAs you have the certainty that it is under the custody of the Institución para el Depósito de Valores (INDEVAL), which is in charge of keeping a record of all transactions.
